Controversy about the existence of a self-adjoint time operator T conjugate to a given Hamiltonian is reexamined. Specifically , we attempt to obtain an explicit
solution to the operator equation -i [ T (p,q) , H (p,q) ] = 1 for a conformally invariant Hamiltonian.
